SENIOR ACCOUNTANT JOB POSTING

A growing Westborough, MA start-up that owns and operates drive-through coffee stands and car washes in MA, RI, and FL is looking for our next team member to join the Finance Department. The right candidate will have the opportunity to be a part of our explosive growth while further developing their accounting skills. The purpose of the Senior Accountant position is to support the Controller and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) on all financial requirements, from interim financial statement preparation to budgeting and forecasting. This position is also responsible for general accounting and maintaining the organization’s overall accounting systems, procedures, and policies.

AUTHORITY AND SUPERVISION:

  • Reports directly to the Controller
  • This position has no direct reports

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Accounts Payable
    • Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile balance sheet accounts
    • Input invoice details into QuickBooks
    • Conduct vendor payment status inquiries
    • Process W-9 requests from vendors
    • Prepare the 1099-MISC reporting activities
    • Print and mail checks to vendors as needed
    • Process CashPro ACH/Wire payments on a scheduled and Ad-hoc basis
  • Month-End Activities
    • Support Month-end close process
    • Prepare and review journal entries
    • Review and reconcile cash, prepaid accounts, accounts payable, intercompany payments, and other balance sheet accounts
    • Prepare month-end financial reports for management
  • Other Duties
    • Complete Ad-hoc projects and requests from Controller and CFO
    • Assist with sales tax filings and preparations
    • Aid in business card management

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Attainment of a bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years verifiable experience as an Accountant.
  • Minimum of 1 year of Public Accounting and Audit experience required, with two years or more preferred.
  • Possess knowledge of commonly used accounting concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Advanced Excel knowledge using pivot tables; overall knowledge and skill with Microsoft products.
  • The following are preferred and considered a plus for consideration:
    • QuickBooks Online experience
    • CashPro experience
    • Experience with 1099 filings
    • Current CPA
    • Has written GAAP Policies
    • Experience working with External Auditors
    • At least one year of Retail Accounting experience
    • Experience with ERP Implementations

The purpose of the HR Coordinator position is to support the Head of Human Resources in administering various critical HR functions, including benefits administration, HR communication, and employee information. AUTHORITY AND SUPERVISION:

  • This position will report to the Head of Human Resources.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for working with new hires in the pre-onboarding and onboarding processes to ensure all information is accurate, complete, and compliant.
  • Perform data entry, maintenance, audits, analysis, and data reporting in the HR Information System.
  • In conjunction with the Head of HR, develop and execute communication strategies to share informationabout the business, HR programs and offerings, and other relevant information.
  • Provide current and prospective team members with information about policies, practices, job duties,wages, and employee benefits.
  • Respond to internal and external HR-related inquiries and requests; Facilitates the administration of workers’ compensation processes and programs and, in conjunction with the Head of HR, assists with investigating accidents and injuries.
  • Maintain employee benefits programs, educate team members on company benefits, and promptly complete and approve all enrollment activities.
  • Maintain the work structure by processing team member status changes and corrective action forms, updatingjob requirements and job descriptions, executing new hire offers, overseeing the background check process, and ensuring completion of onboarding activities.
  • Assist with employee orientation, development, and
  • Execute the employee off-boarding process, ensuring compliance with relevant state law(s).
  • Partner with various departments or functions, e.g., Finance, IT, Operations, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate’s degree in human resources, business, or related field (Required). Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • A minimum of three years of proven experience as an HR Coordinator, Administrator, or Jr. Generalist capacity
  • Current knowledge of S. employment laws
  • Exposure to payroll practices
  • Working knowledge of HR processes, best practices, benefits administration, and HRIS administration and maintenance
  • Willingness to commute to our other facilities in MA, RI, MI, IL, AL, and FL, as deemed necessary
